  • Anonymous page views and console errors for technical monitoring (via PostHog)

Optional browser storage:

  • If you check "Remember me for next time" when submitting, your name and email are stored locally in your browser
  • This is purely for your convenience and can be cleared anytime
  • This data never leaves your device unless you submit another memory

How We Use Your Information

  • Display approved memories and messages on the memorial site
  • Contact you if clarification is needed (only if email provided)
  • Moderate submissions to maintain a respectful environment
  • Generate weekly moderation summaries for family administrators

  • No storage of passwords or financial information

Data Retention

  • Email addresses: Automatically redacted from guest book entries 72 hours after approval
  • Rejected content: Retained for moderation records but never displayed
  • Approved content: Retained indefinitely as part of the memorial
  • Content removal: You may contact moderators to request content removal. We will make reasonable efforts to honor removal requests, though this site is provided as-is and final decisions remain at the moderators' discretion

Moderation & Access

  • Only designated family members have moderator access
  • Moderators review submissions before public display
  • Moderator accounts require secure invitation and authentication
  • All moderation actions are logged with timestamp and moderator identity

Third-Party Services

We use minimal third-party services:

  • Cloudflare: Infrastructure, storage, and content delivery
  • Vercel: Website hosting and deployment
  • Resend: Email notifications for moderators (optional)
  • PostHog: Anonymous analytics and error monitoring (no personal data collected)

These services are bound by their own privacy policies and we've selected them for their strong privacy and security practices.

Children's Privacy

This site is open to all ages who wish to share memories of Fred. For children under 13, we recommend parental supervision when submitting content. We do not knowingly collect additional personal information from children.

No Commercial Use

We will never:

  • Sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties
  • Use your information for advertising or marketing
  • Send promotional emails or spam
  • Transfer your data to other services without explicit consent
